General Introduction
Hemodialysis is based on the principle that the harmful substances that accumulate in the body during renal insufficiency, which is often complicated by high blood pressure and diabetes, are removed from harmful substances by the patient blood and dialysis solution being separated by a semipermeable membrane.
Synthetic membrane used in our dialysis center is steam sterilized and the risk of allergy is low. With the applied bicarbonate dialysis solutions, harmful substances in the body are removed safely and efficiently.
WHAT IS DIALYSIS?
Renal Failure is a condition that occurs with the progressive and irrecoverable loss of kidney functions in patients who have lost 80-90% of their kidney functions.
When the kidneys do not work properly, the process of cleaning the excess fluid and waste materials accumulated in the body through a semi-permeable filter is called dialysis. Dialysis treatment is applied in two ways: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
HEMODIALIZATION:
It is the process of cleansing blood outside the body through a machine and a semi-permeable membrane and returning it to the body. Hemodialysis treatment is planned according to the general condition of the patient and the result of monthly blood tests.
High blood flow is required for hemodialysis treatment. Permanent and temporary methods are used for this.
1-PERMANENT CAVE ROAD APPLICATIONS
*Arteriovenous fistula (AVF)
*Arteriovenous Graft
*Tunneled Cuffed Catheters
2. TEMPORARY VESSEL ROAD APPLICATIONS
They are double lumen catheters applied to subclavian, femoral and jugular veins depending on the area of attachment. Because of the high risk of infection, their usage time is short.
*Complications encountered in hemodialysis treatment:
*Hypotension-Hypertension
*Cramp
*Headache
*Nausea-Vomiting
*Itching
*Chest-Back Pain
*Chills-Fever
